Recent Work
Selection of our recent work with GIS applications. Please contact us to further information.
Shark By-Watch UK
A web-based GIS application for displaying Mark, Release and Recapture data on UK sharks. The application is built using OpenLayers and users can upload sightings and query the map data by various parameters e.g. species.
Western Shelf Observatory
A Content Managed website with an interactive "Map Room". The Map Room is built using OpenLayers and users can turn observing systems on and off.
Charting Progress 2
A content Managed website with a full map based navigation system. The website contains the full Charting Progress 2 report (that's the biggest assessment on the UK seas ever done!) and users can interrogate the content using the map based navigation system and view the sections of the report they are specifically interested in.
EMECO Datatools
An application for integrating and visualising large marine environmental datasets from across the UK and Europe. The application is built using PHP with a powerful GIS database (PostgreSQL /PostGIS). The tool exports data to OpenLayers, XML, CSV, WMS, KML and in formats compatible with other GIS applications e.g. ArcMaps (see Software Development projects).
